Human Pin Cushion
That’s what I felt like today as I left the doctor’s office after getting my 1st round of shots for travel to China. The grand total was 4 shots for me (2 in each arm). Patrick made out a little better, he only needed 3 when he went in a few weeks ago. We both got up to date on our tetanus, then got our 1st shot in the Hep A series, and we also got our Typhoid vaccination. After getting some blood work done I found out that I wasn’t immune to Hep B like I thought I was so I also started that series as well today. I have to admit that by the 3rd shot I was ready to be done and I just kept saying over and over in my head… “this gets us one step closer to Xander” and that made it a little better. Who knew I was such a baby when it came to shots?
In other news, there isn’t really any new news We are now on day 25 of waiting for our LOA. This morning I decided to start filling out the I800 form for USCIS. This will get sent in when we receive our LOA. I got most of it filled out but it needed some info that I need to go back and look through records to find, so I decided to leave that for another day. My goal is to have it done by May 1st so if we get that LOA early it will be ready to go.
Without adoption paperwork to keep my busy I’ve been turning my energy towards the house. Last week I painted the family room. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and really wanted it done before Xander gets home so I decided to tackle it last week. It looks really nice and I’ve just got one more door to paint and it will be done. Patrick has also been really busy working on the basement. This has been a huge project for him and he’s been working on redoing the entire basement for almost 2 years now. Well there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel!!!! All the drywall is up and he’s almost done with the mudding. It will then be my turn to paint. I went to Home Depot today and got drywall primer in hopes that I can start on the ceiling in the next few days. He’s done such a great job with this room and it’s looking like it should be done by June. Once I paint all we’ll have to do is get new carpet and we’ll be done
LID
I got an email this morning from our agency that they had received our LID. It’s April 2, 2011. The CCAA received and logged in our Dossier on the same day. So now we wait for our LOA, we are currently on day 13 of waiting. It’s nice to know that we are officially in that wait and almost 2 weeks in. I’m hoping May is the month that our LOA comes!
