1st Egg Hunt

Yesterday we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at our church.  Xander kinda of remembered doing egg hunts last year but I don’t think he really remembered it all that well.  He had a great time.  They broke up into groups and did a craft, played games, heard a story about a sand dollar, and of course got to go on an egg hunt.  The weather was cold and wet so the egg hunt this year was inside.  It was a morning full of fun!

Xander is waiting to make his craft... a sand dollar.

The finished project :)

Everyone has a spoon and a marshmallow and is ready to go!

Time to find some eggs.

Xander was really excited to fill his basket with eggs.

At the end of the egg hunt Xander is emptying his eggs to see what candy he got.

Build & Grow

Patrick and Xander over the past year have gone to a few of the Build & Grow events put on by Lowes.  They went for the 1st time in a while a few weeks ago and had a great time.  Xander is getting really good at hammering and putting things together.  This time they made a Monster Truck together.

Xander is ready to get started!

Working on getting his truck put together.

Martin Luther King Weekend in Brown County

We again went to the cabin on Martin Luther King Weekend.  We had a great time.  This year Brennan, Laura, and Kal-el were able to join us which made it all the more fun.  We also had a mini birthday party for Patrick, Ariel, and I on Saturday night.  Xander and Kal-el had tons of fun playing with each other for the weekend.  It was a great family get away!

We had a great Christmas this year.  It was lots of fun and in the days after we got some snow.  Xander had a blast playing in his 1st real snowfall.  My Mom & Dad came up to visit the day after Christmas and they got to play in the snow too :)

Xander helped me make cookies and eats a few too :)

Florida Trip!

The marching band traveled to Florida in December to play at Disney World.  We decided to all go as a family.  Xander and I flew down early to spend some time with my parents and Patrick traveled with the band as a chaperon.   Xander and I had a great week in Florida.  Grandma and Grandpa Warwick took Xander and I to Bush Gardens for 2 days.  It was so much fun!  The park was not crowed at all and we never waited on line for anything.  In fact there were times when Xander was the only kid on the ride.  Xander also really enjoyed swimming in the pool and riding the golf cart while at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

Later in the week we went up to Disney World to meet up with Patrick, Ariel, the band, and Grandma and Grandpa McCoy.  Xander and I spent 2 days at the Magic Kingdom and Xander had a great time.  The 1st day there we spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa McCoy and Patrick and Ariel joined us the next day.  It was so much fun seeing the band march right before the Light Parade at night.  It was a great few days at the Magic Kingdom.

Brown County Cabin

The weekend after Thanksgiving we headed out to the cabin in Brown County with Patrick’s family.  It was a great weekend full of relaxation and it was also when we found out we were having a baby girl!

On Saturday morning there are always some surprises in our stockings!

1st Day of School

Everyone is now back in school.  Ariel started her Senior year of High School on August 22nd.  It’s so hard to believe that she is now a Senior.  It’s been fun this summer going on college visits with her and wondering where she might go next year.  She is one busy girl right now with marching band and the fall drama.  It’s been a great start to the school year for her.

Ready to go on the 1st day of school!

Our beautiful Senior!

Xander’s 1st day of preschool was on August, 28th.  He is again in Mrs. Henderson’s room and is loving going to preschool again.  He picked up this year just where he left off last year.  It’s been really nice having the same teacher because he know’s exactly what to do.  He loves going to “work” everyday with his backpack.

Xander's turn! 1st day of preschool

Forever Family Day!

August 15, 2012 marked 1 year as a Family of 4!  What a year it has been!  To celebrate the day we got Xander a gift that he opened 1st thing in the morning.  It was an airport and boy does he LOVE it!  He spent the entire day playing with it.  That night Patrick, Xander, and I went out of Chinese food to celebrate.  We love you Xander and are so happy you are in our family now!

Bringing the big box in to open!

What could this be?

So happy to see it's an airport.

2 hours later Mama finally had it all put together. It had a LOT of pieces.

Loving his "China fried rice"

One year ago we were very busy getting ready for our trip to China to meet Xander.  This week last year we got our final update and pictures of Xander.  It was so exciting to see those pictures and we could not wait to actually meet him and get to hold him.  Along with the pictures we learned he was 32.8 inches tall, weighed 22.5 pounds, and he was wearing a size 5 1/2 size shoe.  Take a look at what our boy looked like a year ago.

A year later and Xander has grown a lot in so many ways!  He is now 37 3/4 inches tall, weighs 28 lbs, and is wearing a size 9 shoe!  He is so much stronger now than he was a year ago.  Take a look at our boy today.

Our sweet boy!

I'm so big!

Love that smile :)

Corn Roast

This past weekend we went up to Houston Woods for the afternoon to join Aunt Ree at Corn Roast.  Aunt Ree was camping for the weekend with her horse and pony along with several other members of the Horsemen’s Club.  Ariel loves the Corn Roast and has been going for years.  This was Xander’s first time going and his first time seeing the pony and horse.  At first Xander was a little nervous about the pony but soon he just couldn’t wait to ride.  It was a really fun afternoon and evening of riding and hanging out.

Xander meets the pony.
